Calling for a Peaceful Resolution of the Korean Peninsula Nuclear Crisis

On the morning of 9 October, the DPRK (North Korea) announced that it had carried out a nuclear test.

As the Global Partnership to Prevent Armed Conflict (GPPAC), the world-wide civil society-led network to build a new international consensus on peacebuilding and the prevention of violent conflict, we strongly protest such destabilizing and provocative acts.

Nuclear tests threaten the lives of inhabitants of surrounding areas and the DPRK's possession of nuclear weapons threatens the Korean Peninsula, Japan, East Asia and the entire world. Such testing is also in violation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The DPRK must refrain from any nuclear testing and development of nuclear weapons, and totally abandon its nuclear weapons programme. At the same time, we also call for abandoning approaches which are antagonistic, lack dialogue, and involve threats of use of force and resort to unilateral diplomatic pressure.

As a result of the extant cold war structures in the region, military pressure only exacerbates crisis and puts the Korean Peninsula at high risk of an armed conflict.

We call upon the governments of the US, China, South Korea, Japan and Russia to reopen the Six-Party Talks, based on the comprehensive structure outlined in the Six-Party Joint Declaration of September last year. The declaration calls on the DPRK to abandon its nuclear programme and for Japan and the US to then guarantee the DPRK's security and work towards the normalisation of diplomatic relations and economic cooperation. We also seek strong support from the UN Secretary-General, the Security Council, and all governments to use all available channels to work towards reopening the Six-Party Talks.

Recognising that international agreements concluding that the nuclear weapon states must undertake solemn nuclear disarmament negotiations are not being observed, we call for concrete action on the part of all these states to work towards achieving nuclear disarmament.

We also strongly oppose any moves by neighbouring countries to use the DPRK's claimed nuclear test as an excuse to proceed with plans for developing their own nuclear capabilities, which would violate the NPT and pose a grave risk to regional and global security..

As civil society organisations participating in the GPPAC network, we declare our solidarity with our counterparts in the region and, in cooperation with Northeast Asian civil society, pledge to work together with the UN and national governments to create and strengthen a framework to prevent armed conflict in the Korean Peninsula and to find a peaceful solution to the nuclear crisis.

Here is an excerpt from the second session of the 911 Truth International Conference...

I was actually planning to have Ian Woods of Global Outlook give a short introduction to himself and the work he is doing, but he could not make it to the conference. So instead, I asked William to take the stage for five minutes... That ‘five’ minutes turned into more than twenty, but went so fast we didn’t realize it till he finished!

As you will hear, his testimony leaves little doubt (I am really tempted to say ‘zero doubt’...) as to the use of explosive devices in the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings, especially when taking into consideration the testimony of Professor Steven E. Jones... If you already haven’t seen Professor Jones talk about the use of explosive material to bring about the World Trade Center collapse, check out this movie on Google Video.

I believe in being open to all viewpoints, even those that I do not necessarily agree with. If we are to live in a peaceful world, then we must allow others to express their opinions. I say this as there are disagreements as to what type of explosives may have brought down the buildings...

I don’t think we should be wasting our precious energy on such arguements, up to a point, yes, but for me, the purpose of my work is to bring and end to the wars that were created as a result of this horrible event and to change the system that made these events actually come about.

Of course, finally, my purpose is to stop such events from ever happening again in the future!

Beyond Expectations!

Yesterday‘s 911 Truth International Conference was an overwhelming success and it exceeded our expections! I will write more soon, but for now, here are some pictures!

View of the audience that joined the movie session, that included the first screening in Japan of the most popular 911 movie to date, 'Loose Change.' Actually, the Japanese version was not completed on time for the event, so only the first hour was shown.

The opening performance for the second part of the program, the buffet party and lunch, was by Mamadou Lo, a well known African drummer who now lives in Japan.

Yumi then proceeded to introduce the main guests for the event... Jimmy Walter flew over to Japan from Austria especially for the event. Jimmy Walter has spent millions of dollars of his own money in an effort to let the public know what really happened on September 11th. He even has a million dollar challenge to anyone who can prove that bombs did not bring down the two World Trade Center towers. No one to this day has even attemted to prove him wrong. Leuren Moret, the well known and internationally famous expert lecturer on the health effects of depleted uranium (DU), presented testimony on the high levels of radiation recorded in the area around the Pentagon in the hours and days after the destruction that took place there, suggesting that a cruise missile was the cause of the damage and NOT a passenger plane as we have been told, as cruise missiles contain DU.

Mad Amano, a well known parody cartoonist spoke on how the mass media is using movies like ‘Flight 93’ and ‘The World Trade Center’ to embed the untruth of the events of September 11th, 2001 into the psyche of the world...

Richard Koshimizu gave a very annimated and powerful presentation covering many aspects of the Sept. 11th government conspiracy.

Dave Shaw, gave us an introduction to the newly released Japanese version of the movie ‘911 Eyewitness’ and we were then treated to a 30 minute mini showing!

Benjaman Fulford, the ex head of Forbes Asia, the well known economic magazine, then gave a very powerful presentation on how the world has been misled by the mainstream media. Currently he has several 911 bestsellers in Japanese in print, 9.11 Terror Concoction and 9.11 Truth Revealed.

Muneo Narusawa, who wrote a very well written expose on the events of September 11th, then discussed different aspects of the 911 myth we have been told to accept as truth... He has a popular book in Japanese titled 911 Mystery.

William Rodriguez then gave us a very, very moving account of his experiences at the World Trade Center. Many of the audience were in tears, including myself...

Next it was time for a musical interlude, with a message of Peace and Love, of course! ZAKI gave us an outstanding performance and included a song urging Japan to keep Article Nine of the Constitution. Article Nine states that Japan should never again use military force as a way to resolve conflicts.

Mamadou Lo then gave us a stunning demonstration of his masterful drumming skills, so much so, that many people began dancing to the wonderful rhythms he created, including the two rather tall ladies that can be seen in the picture below, who came all the way from Osaka to support this 911 Truth Event!

The New Frontiers (minus 1) performed next. They first got together in the 60’s when they were at high school and are well known for their wonderful renditions of the many of the folk tunes made famous in that era, including the songs of Pete Seger, Woodie Gutherie and Joan Baez..

Today Japan will have the chance to hear what really happened on Sept. 11th, 2001.

And make no mistake, it will not be what the mainstream media and Hollywood (eg. Flight 93...) have been spoon feeding us, I can assure you!

I have had the chance to meet with some of the speakers already and I am so impressed with there infatiguable desire to bring truth, peace and common sense back into our lives.

It is so inspiring to meet such people, who, after finding out what really happened on September 11th, literally stopped the lives they had been living up to that time and from then on have devoted themeselves to the task of awakening you, me and the rest of the world to the deception that is slowly engulfing us...

If you have not already started, it is time now for you to begin your own research...

If you discover things that don’t ‘quite fit with the official story’ then speak out to your friends and family... Discuss, explain, question... look deeply... You may then find your taste buds maturing and soon you will have no problem refusing the overly soft and simple baby food that has been placed oh so conveniently within your reach...

Anyway, when I am able to, I will keep you up to speed on events the Conference!
