Ex-Bush Official Busts 9/11 Perps at U.W. Historical Society
Madison, WI
Saturday, May 6, 2006
An enthusiastic standing-room-only crowd packed the Wisconsin Historical Society auditorium Saturday to hear ex-Bush Administration insider Morgan Reynolds prosecute top administration and military officials for the 9/11 inside job.
Reynolds indicted Richard Cheney, George W. Bush, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Richard Meyers, confessed WTC demolisher and insurance-fraudster Larry Silverstein, and others for mass murder, conspiracy, and other charges including high treason. The enthusiastic response from the overflow crowd was a de facto vote for conviction on all counts.
The former Director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis, showed that the defendants conspired to create a false cover story of suicide hijackings in order to "blow the World Trade Center to kingdom come" with explosives-a shock-and-awe psy-op designed to coerce the American people into supporting a pre-planned "long war" in the Middle East, massive increases in military spending, and the rollback of Constitutional civil liberties.
Reynolds stated that everyone in the worldwide intelligence community knew that 9/11 was an inside job as soon as it happened, with the obvious stand-down of US air defenses, controlled demolition of the World Trade Center, and non-protection of the President in Florida being the biggest tip-offs. The head of the Russian equivalent of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the former head of the German intelligence service Andreas Von Bulow, former National Security Agency official Wayne Madsen, and former MI-6 agent David Schayler have all openly called 9/11 an inside job, while former CIA official Ray McGovern has confirmed this directly in private, and indirectly in public by way of his ringing endorsement of David Ray Griffin's work on 9/11.
Reynolds, who served as George W. Bush's Labor Department Chief Economist in 2001-2002, believes that a 9/11 truth victory is looming on the near-term horizon. He predicted that one or more of the 9/11 insiders will soon "give it up" and come forward with what they know, saying "Remember, you heard it here first." He said that most of those complicit in the attacks did not realize how over-the-top the plot was, due to the need-to-know compartmentalization of such covert operations, and that some semi-complicit individuals will probably be coming forward. Reynolds said that most of his email acquaintances are now worried that the 9/11 truth movement is going to win, triggering the greatest Constitutional crisis in U.S. history. For Reynolds, this is less a cause for worry than for rejoicing: "We need a Constitutional crisis!"
Reynolds argued that 9/11 truth is a matter of extreme urgency, since the perpetrators seem to be preparing another 9/11-style terror hoax as a pretext for attacking Iran with nuclear weapons. He said that exposing the 9/11 fraud is the best way to stop Cheney's plan to stage an unprovoked nuclear attack on Iran, and the military draft and Pinochet-style prison camps and death squads for dissenters that might accompany it.
Reynolds urged the audience to help educate the American public about the 9/11 inside job. Personal contact with family and friends, the internet, alternative media, and public events like this are all good educational strategies, he said, adding that a demonstration of 100,000 9/11 truth supporters at Ground Zero next year would be hard for the media to ignore.
Politicians and the media will help expose the 9/11 inside job, he said, only after the growing grassroots movement reaches critical mass. The organizers of Reynolds' talk urged audience members to come to the upcoming international 9/11 truth conference in Chicago, 9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future, June 2nd-4th, 2006:* * *

Friends, we are gathered here today not just to speak truth to power, but to start fighting back. The information you are hearing today is political dynamite. It is the stuff of which revolutions are made.
Evil rulers use divide-and-conquer strategies against their subjects. In Iraq, the occupiers blow up mosques and markets, and murder thousands of bystanders, in a lame attempt to provoke a Sunni-Shia civil war. But they're not fooling anybody. The Iraqis all know who's really doing these bombings, just as 90% of the Arab and Muslim world knows that 9/11 was an inside job. Here in Ersatz America, our criminal rulers are trying to divide us by whipping up emotional hysteria: abortion, immigration, gay marriage, liberal versus conservative, religious versus secular, Christian and Jewish versus Muslim-anything to distract us and keep us from seeing what they're doing to all of us.
9/11 truth unites ALL of us - left and right, gay and straight, religious, spiritual and secular, Muslim, Christian and Jewish, military and civilian - in revolutionary outrage against this evil regime, and in determination to overthrow it by any means necessary.
We hope the 9/11 truth revolution will be a nonviolent revolution. We are starting with education, symbolism, and nonviolent action. Please honor the request of Veterans for 9/11 Truth (v911t.org) to fly the American flag upside down as a symbol of Constitutional distress. And please come to Chicago for the international 9/11 truth strategy conference June 2nd - 4th, sponsored by 911truth.org and the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth. Posters are available at the table outside. We are meeting in Chicago to figure out how to win on 9/11 truth. And we are going to win. See: 911revealingthetruth.org
And when we win, the brave man we have invited here today will get a big chunk of the credit.
Dr. Morgan Reynolds is Professor Emeritus at Texas A & M University. He served as Chief Economist in the Department of Labor under George W. Bush during the Cheney regime's first illegitimate term. He is the former director of the Criminal Justice Center at the National Center for Policy Analysis, and appeared on innumerable political discussion shows in the mainstream media - back when we used to have a mainstream media rather than a Ministry of Propaganda. I'm sorry, I shouldn't say that - it's the Ministry of Love. Wait a minute, that's the one that runs Abu Ghraib and the sex torture gulag. Or is that der Ministry of Unheimlich Insecurity?
I'm sorry, I grew up back when we had something vaguely resembling a democracy - I can't keep all this stuff straight. In any case, Dr. Reynolds has a stellar resume, and the best part of it is that he is a Wisconsin Badger with three degrees from this great university - and he is living up to its motto, The Truth Will Set You Free!

Stephen Colbert, New American Hero
I heard his name a week ago from my dear friend Norie Huddle. She sent me the speech he made at a Whitehouse dinner on April 30. I watchted it, laughed and laughed till my stomach ached! Who is this guy?
And a week later, today, I got what is written below from Lucille Moyer, and also from Truth Out, and others! Now I am realizing this is not just funny but revolutionary. You must watch and spread it around too!

Stephen Colbert: New American Hero

(Click here to read the story.)
Virtually overnight, Stephen Colbert became a hero to countless Americans, following his April 30 performance at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
Since then, millions of people have either watched the video or read the transcript of his skewering of both the president and the press corps, and have discussed it avidly. Tens of thousands of people have gone to the website ThankYouStephenColbert.org and written letters of appreciation. Talk about water-cooler chatter; the event crashed internet servers across the land. It truly was one of those moments of media shock and delight.
And then, an odd but revealing thing happened. Some of the chattering class commentators, mainstream media writers and columnists, and Democratic officials didn't get it: Not very funny, rude, not respectful of the president, and so on. Are they kidding? How could they not understand they were witnessing one of the bravest, most subversive performances in memory, which thrilled and gave hope to untold viewers and readers, and will be a huge marker when people look back on the Bush era?
Colbert's speech had a huge impact for two reasons: First, he spoke truth to power right to the face of the president, in front of the entire news media. No one could miss, sidestep or deny it. It wasn't a scene from a movie, book or talk show -- it was live. It reminded me of Edward R. Murrow's famous address to the Radio and Television News Directors Association (recently depicted in the film "Good Night and Good Luck"). It gave me goose bumps. Colbert's performance shamed every Democrat or columnist who has been too afraid, too timid, or just too worried about losing his or her own power and access to go out on a limb and tell the truth that this administration is a disaster beyond our wildest nightmares. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rove have gotten away with murder … and worse. And many of the people in that room that night who squirmed in their seats -- it was in part because of the internal indictment they were feeling for not doing what they should have done, countless times, long before. Maybe now they will do the right thing, but I won't be holding my breath.
The second reason Colbert made such a huge splash is the rapid advance of video on the web. Almost overnight, the media world has irrevocably changed as video is increasingly becoming as important as print and still images on the web. When, in a matter of hours, dozens of websites can post or link to a video and get the word out about a spectacular event, the role of the gatekeepers and the corporate media shrinks big-time. And it doesn't matter if the networks or CNN or Fox decides that they don't want you to see it -- they can't stop it. The people's network is now in working order. Progressives now have a television capacity; still rudimentary, perhaps, but powerfully effective.
The Press Leaks
The press coverage of the Colbert performance was illuminating, according to the popular blog, Democratic Underground: "Expect nothing less from the cowardly American media. This demonstrates powerfully the ability of the media to choose the news, and to decide when and how to shield Bush from negative publicity. Sins of omission can be just as bad as sins of commission."
The AP's first stab at it, as well as Reuters and the Chicago Tribune, tell us everything we need to know: In these reports, Colbert's performance is sidestepped and marginalized, while President Bush is depicted as lighthearted, humble and witty.
Salon's Joan Walsh points out, "Colbert's deadly performance did more than reveal, with devastating clarity, how Bush's well-oiled myth machine works. It exposed the mainstream press' pathetic collusion with an administration that has treated it -- and the truth -- with contempt from the moment it took office. Intimidated, coddled, fearful of violating propriety, the press corps that for years dutifully repeated Bush talking points was stunned and horrified when someone dared to reveal that the media emperor had no clothes. Colbert refused to play his dutiful, toothless part in the White House correspondents' dinner -- an incestuous, backslapping ritual that should be retired. For that, he had to be marginalized. Voilà: 'He wasn't funny.'"
On the Democratic political front, as John Aravosis wrote on AmericaBlog, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., actually stepped up to defend President Bush, saying, according to The Hill:
"I thought some of it was funny, but I think it got a little rough … He is the president of the United States, and he deserves some respect."
"I'm certainly not a defender of the administration," Hoyer reassured stunned observers, but Colbert "crossed the line" with many jokes that were "in bad taste."
Criticizing Colbert for being rude would be pretty funny if it weren't so depressing. Rude? Since when has politics in this administration used the Marquis of Queensbury rules? Is Dick Cheney sweet and accommodating? When, in their march to power, has the right wing had good manners -- about abortion or gay marriage, or in the push for invading Iraq? Sure, mention decorum and one thinks immediately of Karl Rove, of Pat Robertson calling for the assassination of Hugo Chavez, of Jerry Falwell blaming America's bad morals for 9/11.
The fact is, Stephen Colbert is at the acme of rising independent voices -- in the blogosphere, on the internet, in publishing and independent filmmaking -- who are being aggressive and playing hardball the way the right does. And guess what? The establishment is getting nervous. The powers-that-be know that people respond to passion, anger and resistance, emotions that convey meaning and seriousness, and the will to fight hard for important issues.
In a smaller way, but showing similar guts, Cindy Sheehan spoke truth by traveling to Texas and demanding that the president explain, please, just what "noble cause" her son died for. Ray McGovern did it recently when he publicly challenged Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in Atlanta, and so did Harry Taylor, the man who confronted George W. Bush at a town meeting in North Carolina.
Perhaps the most important lesson we have learned from the divisions laid bare by Stephen Colbert is that the big split isn't so much between Democrats and Republicans or between the media and the people and events they cover, but rather between the powerful and the angry, between those basking in power and those fighting for change. The kiss-ass media, the revolving-door congressmen, the sycophant lobbyists and congressional staffers, the greedy media consultants -- all are dependent on and addicted to the trappings of power, whether it's their next book, TV appearance, consulting contract, ride on Air Force One or junket to play golf at St. Andrews. Stephen Colbert turned the heat up on them all:
… let's review the rules. Here's how it works: The president makes the decisions; he's the decider. The press secretary announces those decisions, and you people, the press, type those decisions down. Make, announce, check. Just put 'em through a spell check and go home. Get to know your family again. Make love to your wife. Write that novel you got kickin' around in your head. You know, the one about the intrepid Washington reporter with the courage to stand up to the administration? You know: fiction!
It's getting hotter in the kitchen, and some of those who have the most to hide are getting closer to a meltdown.

Babies Today Are Still Dying from Chernobyl 20 Years Ago
I had to post this here so that more people understand what it means to have nuclear power plant operating near you. (by this I mean 200 miles (320KM) or less!) Imagine being a mother who has a baby dying from cancer, and you can not do anything. Many Iraqi mothers are now experiencing this from DU pollution, as are the mothers of Chernobyl children.
We have 55 nuclear power plants plus one new reprocessing plant in Japan. According to Greenpeace in one day Rokkasho Reprocessing plant discharges the same amount of radiation as a single nuclear power plant would discharge in one year. But some say it is more than that.
For example, Mr. Kiyohiko Yamada says that the discharge of radiation from Rokkasho alone IN ONE DAY is more than all the 55 nuclear power plants in Japan combined FOR A YEAR. What this means is that Rokkasho is releasing the equivalent amount of radiation that 20,075(55 by 365 days) nuke plants would release PER DAY. Mr. Yamada says that the radiation release data was made public through the Gennen's public hearing minutes, which he has access to (Gennen is the Japan Nuclear Fuel Company who operates the Rokkasho reprocessing plant). The "active test" of the reprocessing plant started on March 31.
This number sounds too high to be believable to me, so I am in the process of checking this data. I will will adjust these figures after I have confirmation of this data.
This is really crazy. Are the Japanese people (we) so stupid to allow this happen to their(our) land, water and air? All our assets, houses, apartments, company buildings and so on, will become worthless if a single accident happens. In case of the Rokkasho reprocessing plant, without even an accident, the pollution is released on a daily basis, as part of the regular operation of the plant, so the damage is ongoing and continous...
Who would want to invest in such a potentially dangerous place? Think about it. If we wanted to sell Japan in such a condition, who would buy it? We have no right to pollute our planet, our land, water and soil. They are for our children to enjoy. We must do something about this!

Dear Friend of NIRS,
I’m sitting today in our office in Rivne, Ukraine, where we’re working on the next steps to build upon last week’s remarkable Chornobyl+20: Remembrance for the Future conference in Kyiv, Ukraine.
I’m almost 200 miles west of Chornobyl, yet just 30 miles to the north is one of Ukraine’s four levels of contaminated zones. In this zone, tens of thousands of people live and work and farm and eat food grown on land that is killing them. More than four million people in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia still live on land contaminated from the Chornobyl accident of 20 years ago. Sadly, babies born today are still dying from that accident because they’re drinking milk produced by cows eating contaminated grass. Chornobyl truly is an accident without end.
If your information came only from the American media, or the nuclear power industry, you would probably think Chornobyl really wasn’t so bad. A disaster, yes, but a manageable one; one the world can live with if necessary to produce needed electricity.
Sitting here in Ukraine, with new studies about the real consequences of Chornobyl stacked next to my desk, the reality looks quite different.
Last September, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and World Health Organization (WHO) released a report on Chornobyl’s consequences, which concluded that while the accident had resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars in damages and permanent interdiction of large areas of land, “only” about 4,000 cancer fatalities were expected. Perhaps only the cynical nuclear power industry could consider a disaster whose consequences are greater than Hurricane Katrina to be good news, but the industry seized upon this study to argue that the world should be building more nuclear reactors.
But in the past few weeks, several new studies have been released countering the IAEA’s report. First came the TORCH report, prepared for the Chornobyl+20 conference. It concluded that 30,000-60,000 cancer fatalities can be expected. A report prepared for Greenpeace and endorsed by more than 50 scientists from the affected countries projects 93,000 deaths, and perhaps as many as 200,000. Other studies project even higher casualties.
And these reports were big news across Europe. Finally, even the World Health Organization (which by a 1950s-era agreement is forced to accept IAEA statistics on nuclear-related health effects) could no longer accept the IAEA’s numbers, and on April 20 released a document projecting a still-very-conservative 29,000 deaths (although you had to read the fine print to find that number).
In short, the IAEA has been largely discredited; its September report found to be self-serving. The real consequences, and thus lessons of Chornobyl, are much greater and more profound than the IAEA and nuclear industries of the world want to admit.
Across Ukraine, across Europe, this is generally understood. But the U.S. media has by and large ignored the reality of Chornobyl and its implications.
That’s easy to do in the U.S., it’s much harder to ignore here in Ukraine. In a couple of weeks, I’ll be coming home. I can leave and not worry about the ongoing consequences. The people who live here cannot.
And yet we all—in every country—ignore the devastation of Chornobyl at our own peril. Because Chornobyl can happen anywhere there is nuclear power and, unless its lessons are learned, it will happen again.
The studies I referred to, and more, are available on our website at http://www.nirs.org/c20/c20us.htm, along with the resolution from the conference and a lot more.
In coming weeks, we’ll be adding proceedings from the conference and updating and expanding our sections on nuclear power and climate change and on sustainable energy, so that you’ll continue to have access to the best and latest information on the issues important to us all. And we’ll be working to spread the truth about Chornobyl, and nuclear issues generally, to the media across the U.S.
You’ll also be hearing from us about the latest congressional activity on Yucca Mountain and reprocessing and how your actions can make a difference in our energy future.
That all takes resources, of course, and I hope you’ll take a moment now to help by donating to us at https://secure.campagne-online.com/registrant/donate.aspx?EventID=2927&LangPref=en-CA. This is our secure online credit card processing system. You can also access this site directly from the NIRS home page at http://www.nirs.org.
As an added incentive, if you contribute by June 30, your contribution will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, by a matching grant set up as a tribute to NIRS’ Radioactive Waste Project director Diane D’Arrigo, who is celebrating her 20th year at NIRS.
If you’d prefer to donate by check, please send your contribution to NIRS, 6930 Carroll Avenue, Suite 340, Takoma Park, MD 20912. Or you can contribute by credit card over the phone at NIRS, 301-270-6477.
However you choose to contribute, I hope you will do so as generously as you can. We must ensure that there will be no more Chornobyls—not in Ukraine, and not in the U.S.
Thank you for your help and support.

Dear Mr. President!, by Pink
This is so wonderful! I hope Mr. President, you will listen to the words, carefully!

20 years later, have we learnt from Chernobyl?
April 26th marked the 20th anniversary of the disaster at Chernobyl. On that day, two explosions took place at reactor number four that caused in total 120 tons of uranium and over 900 tons of highly radioactive graphite to be dispersed, much of it, of course, in the vicinity of the plant, but a significant part of it ended up contaminating all the countries of the world.
I wonder if we have learnt anything from this event that caused and continues to cause so much death, disease, pain and hardship... Officially it is said that about 4,000 deaths could be attributed to the accident, however, some estimates now predict the number of fatal cancer cases will be over 90,000. But even 90,000, may be on the low side. Have a look at this Chernobyl Health Report from GreenPeace if you would like to learn more...
Here in Japan, a country prone to earthquakes, we have 55 nuclear power stations operating in the area the size of California. With a population of nearly 130,000,000, if only one of them were to meltdown, the direct human damage would be unthinkable.
The town of Hamaoka, which is less than 200 KM / 125 Miles from Tokyo, currently has five nuclear reactors in operation. Many people consider Hamaoka to be a disaster waiting to happen as it is built over an earthquake prone area where two tectonic plates meet. Hamaoka may be the most dangerous reactor complex in Japan, if not the world... Have a look at this story titled Japan‘s Deadly Game from the Japan Times and you will begin to understand what I mean.
Again, I ask, have we learnt anything from Chernobyl? As we continue to court such obvious danger I think that maybe we have not! Perhaps it is because we have not been shown in detail the continuing horror that continues in and around Chernobyl.
Recently CNIC (Citizens Nuclear Information Center) translated to Japanese a 25 minute movie titled ‘The Sacrifice.’ It shows scenes of the cleanup directly after the explosions as well as personal stories of the brave men that sacrificed their lives for the safety of their country and actually the world. I hope you will make the effort to see it. The movie can be bought from CNIC. Contact them at the bottom of this page. CNIC publishes newsletters in English(bimonthly) and Japanese(monthly). If you would like to support their hard work to educate the public about the dangers of nuclear power I hope you will subscribe to one or both of them.
Also, if you would like to help support the work of the many volunteers trying to get the five Hamoaka reactors shut down, please check out the Stop Hamaoka homepage. There is no English page available but even so, you can send them a donation to help them with their important work. They put out a newsletter in Japanese that you can show to your Japanese friends... To send them a donation use a Post Office Furikae form. The account name is: Hamaokagenpatu Soshoudan. The account number is: 00870-5-95420. If need be you can contact them via email, though they may take a while to reply as they do not usually use English.
If you read Japanese you should buy a copy of Housyano de Syutoken Shometsu (放射能で首都圏消滅 Radiation - Extinction of Tokyo Metropolitan). It went on sale on April 26, the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident. Even if you can’t read it you should buy a copy and give it to your Japanese friends so they can understand the gravity of the situation we are in. Everyone living in Japan will be affected by the expected earthquake and any resulting nuclear disaster.
[Update] I would also suggest you take a look at this PDF report titled On The Way Out, by Mycle Schneider and Antony Froggatt. It appeared in Nuclear Engineering International last year, though that version was not complete with graphs.
Here is a quote from the last paragraph: “The nuclear share of energy use for electricity production is expected to decline in most regions of the world as a result of public opposition, waste disposal issues, concerns about nuclear arms proliferation, and the economics of nuclear power. The nuclear share of electricity generation worldwide is projected to drop to 12% in 2025 from 19% in 2001.”
I will repeat what I said to one of the comments attached to this blog, I wonder if any of the people and government officials controlling the nuclear industry here in Japan are aware of the trends mentioned in the report. The sooner they wake up to what is going on in the rest of the world, the better!
I hope you will take a look at some of the many web sites that discuss the Chernobyl disaster on the net. Here are a few that I found interesting:
Nuclear Nightmares: 20 Years Since Chernobyl - A photo documentary.
Murderous Atoms - An archive from the May 5, 1986 issue of DER SPIEGEL, just days after the world became aware of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Chernobyl Revisited - In 2004, a local woman named Elena rode her motorcycle through the Chernobyl area, and took photographs... Check out what she sees and has to say.

Bush Must Now Face The Music!
[Update: Neil Young‘s Living With War album is now available in streaming format online. Click here to listen to the album!
There seems to be a growing dissidence amongst musicians for the Bush government. USA today reported on March 23rd that Carlos Santana‘s philosophy is the antithesis of President George W. Bush's. Read the story here.
Then a few days ago, 60’s rock musician Neil Young, who once openly supported President Bush, did a complete about face! Neil is about to release a new album titled ‘Living With War‘. The album centers around one hard hitting song, ‘Let’s Impeach The President.’ Hey, it doesn’t get more direct than that!
Check out this interview on CNN ShowBiz tonight! (Broadband is recommended)
You can read more about Neil’s thinking and the backround to his new album here. The albums internet release is scheduled for April 28th, the CD format should be available in early May.
Here are the lyrics to “Let’s Impeach the President”:
Let’s impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door
He’s the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war
Let’s impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones
What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government’s protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
Let’s impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected
Thank god he’s racking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There’s lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean
Thank God

Must listen to conversation with Jimmy Walter!
You must listen to this conversation between Alex Jones, Jimmy Walter and William Rodriguez. Jimmy and William are currently in Venezuela and will meet with President Chavez soon to discuss the coverup of the Sept. 11th events and the possible formation of an international investigation into 911.
This is truly a first rate discussion on the current situation in the US and the world and how the media is controlled by the government. A lot of other important things are covered too! Definitely recommended listening. Definitely! Listen to it here!

Great Ray Griffin Speech here
On March 30, Dr. Ray Griffin gave a wonderful speech in California at the Grand Lake Theater to a crowd of Progressive Democrats. You can listen to it on our Global Peace Campaign website Audio Resource page (It is 2 hours in length.)
In other news, Ed Asner is officially supporting Charlie Sheen. An interview was planned on CNN ShowBiz Tonight but at the last moment CNN cancelled, due to pressure from the ‘top‘. (Read about this here) Ed is a supporter of Addicted To War and I hope one day to meet all these great, courageous Americans. Thank you, Ed Asner!
Another amazing piece of news is from Venezuela. Jimmy Walter of Reopen 911 and William Rodriguez, a 911 survivor, are making a world tour and are currently in Venezuala. (When I spoke to him a few days ago, he was just about to leave the hotel for the airport.)
They have already met with the President of the Assembly and they will soon meet with the Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. President Chavez has decided to organize a full international investivation into 911.
Check out the poster that William is holding. Can you read what it says at the bottom? Rodriguez was the last survivor pulled from the rubble of the north tower of the WTC, and was responsible for unlocking the stairwells within the tower. Rodriguez represented family members of 9/11 victims and testified to the 9/11 Commission that bombs were in the north tower but his statements were completely omitted from the official record!
Wow! It is getting HOT.

Reopen 911 plus Lecture by Dr. Sternglass and Leuren Moret
Finally, I was able to connect with Jimmy Walter of Reopen 911 last night.
He and William Rodorigues agreed to visit Japan this autumn. We mean to organize the first International Conference on 911 Truth in Japan around that time.
I will keep you posted on my blog and Global Peace Campaign HP. Below are some excerpts from the New York Magazine which should be noted;
*****
For 7 WTC to collapse unaided at that speed, Hoffman says, would mean “its 58 perimeter columns and 47 central columns of structural steel would have to have been shattered at almost the same instant, so unlikely as to be impossible.” What happened at 7 WTC might be the key to the entire mystery of September 11, contends Hoffman.
..
To wit: The IRS, the Department of Defense, and the CIA kept offices on the 25th floor. The Secret Service occupied the ninth and tenth. The Securities and Exchange Commission (home to vast records of bank transactions) was on floors 11 through 13. The 23rd floor was home to Rudy Giuliani’s Office of Emergency Management, his crisis center. If this wasn’t enough, the mortgage of 7 WTC was held by the Blackstone Group, headed by Pete Peterson, chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, stalwart players in any NWO MIHOP. In the 9/11 Truth cosmology, the destruction of 7 World Trade Center is akin to Jack Ruby’s shooting Lee Harvey Oswald. Seven WTC was the home of secrets. It had to go. Central to the scenario is a comment made by Silverstein in a 2002 PBS documentary. “We’ve had such a terrible loss of life,” he quotes himself as saying on 9/11. “Maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it.”
I hope more and more people will face the truth and make decisions according to it.

Here is urgent request from Greenpeace Japan. Rokkasho mura Nuclear Fuel Recycling Plant should be shut down. We have enough radioactivity from the 55 Nuke Power plants in Japan, the 433 worldwide plus the DU dust from Afghanistan and Iraq. Enough! Here are some English pages discussing Rokkasho:
Japan to begin operation of world's most expensive nuclear facility
Rokkasho-mura to be the world’s largest source of radioactive krypton
Wings of Peace - No more Hiroshima, Nagasaki - Stop Rokkasho
Here is a link for the Greenpeace Japanese page.
We also have a lecture by Dr. Sternglass and Leuren Moret in Tokyo on April 2nd at 1:30pm.
Professor Emeritus of Radiological Physics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, Dr. Sternglass has written numerous articles on the health effects of low-level radiation.
His 1981 book Secret Fallout: Low-level Radiation from Hiroshima to Three Mile Island established him as a pioneer in the study of the health effects of low-level radiation.
After working 5 years at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and two years at the Livermore nuclear weapons lab, Lauren left Livermore and now dedicates her life to revealing and understanding the actual health effects of radiation exposure. Ms. Moret contributed to a scientific report on depleted uranium to advise the United Nations' subcommission investigating the illegality of depleted uranium munitions. She has also worked extensively with indigenous people contaminated by radiation from the nuclear weapons program, communities in the US and other countries exposed to radiation from related activities, and communities impacted by radiation from nuclear power plants.
Currently Leuren is helping educate the governments and peoples of the world regarding the dangers of depleted uranium being used in the occupation of Iraq, and the very real possibility that this us is in fact a war crime. With graphic photographs and scientific facts, Leuren drives home the terrible effects of this kind of nuclear war.
Lauren Moret testified in June of 2003 in Japan as an expert on depleted uranium at a public hearing for the international war crimes tribunal, trying President Bush for war crimes in Afghanistan. She is active in a tribunal trying him for war crimes in the U.S. military action in Iraq.
All of you who are interested in knowing the truth about low level radiation and the health risk of DU are welcome!
Join us and make sure you pass on the information below:
Date and time: April 1, 1:30-4:30, we will have a dinner together after the lecture.
Place: Campus Innovation Center, JR Tamachi Station, East Exit.
Map: http://www.ccr.chiba-u.jp/forum/tamachi_l.jpg
Fee: 1000 yen. The lecture will be in English with Japanese translation by myself and Gen Morita.

Alex Jones Interviewed on CNN ShowBiz Tonight!

Unprecedented as it may seem, Alex Jones, the controversial American documentary film producer, journalist and radio and television host from Austin, Texas, who is best known for his radio show and web page Prison Planet, has just been interviewed by A. J. Hammer on CNN Showbiz Tonight. It is a very fast paced interview and Alex manages to cover a lot of areas that I sure hope will get people thinking and questioning... Read a transcript of the interview here, watch the interview here! But don’t stop reading, there is more!

For the second time in two days, Charlie Sheen was interviewed by Alex Jones on his Prison Planet radio show. The interview was very powerful and did not cut any slack to anyone. You MUST listen to it here You can also download it from here. (2.6 MB - 23min). This is a milestone of an interview because it is the first time such a high profile person as Charlie is speaking out against the official 911 story... The interview covers many of the highly questionable areas of Sept. 11th, including the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7, the many reports of bombs going off and more! Charlie is asking his critics to challenge him on the facts, which until now, no one has done.
If you have friends that are not aware of the various discrepancies in the official 911 story, you might introduce them to this Prison Planet story titled, “Actor Charlie Sheen Questions Official 9/11 Story.“ It is definitely a good read!
I should mention that Charlie is the son of Martin Sheen, the Emmy award winning actor who plays the role of the President, in the NBC TV drama, The West Wing. Martin has been arrested over 63 times for protesting against issues such as United States military actions. I have had the pleasure of meeting him on several occasions.

Anyway, kudos to Charlie and Alex! Yes, KUDOS, KUDOS!! (And of course kudos to the many others that have been saying the same things for these last few years.)
Let’s put an end to the military madness we are engulfed in! Let us all work towards Global Peace!
CNN Covers 911 Unanswered Questions... Finally!!
On March 22th, the CNN program ShowBiz Tonight devoted a full ten minute segment to the unanswered questions of September 11th!
Charlie Sheen of the successful primtime CBS Sitcom, Two and a Half Men, makes stunning statements on September 11th. Charlie believes that airplanes did not take down the twin towers! Wow! This is really something for CNN to be broadcasting such controversial material!
You can view the segment here or here (26MB - Broadband recommended).
To listen to the interview between Alex Jones and Charlie Sheen that sparked the CNN interview, click here (39mins - 9MB).
Currently you can vote in the following CNN survey : Do you agree with Charlie Sheen that the U.S. government covered up the real events of the 9/11 attacks? on this page! Please vote and let your voice be heard!

DU Covered in Texan Paper
Take a look at this!!
http://lonestaricon.com/2006/Archives/09/index.htm
Leuren Moret and Dr. Ernest Sternglass are featured in this issue of this Texas paper that is devoted to exposing the dangers of Depleted Uranium (DU). Right now Lauren and Ernest are in Japan, touring and visiting with many activists, as well as giving talks in Tokyo, Kobe, Nagoya, Gifu, Shizuoka, Aomori, etc. We will interview them soon and upload the interview on our Podcast so you can hear directly from them about DU.
In the meantime, please take a look at what they have to say in the paper. These important facts have been hidden from us by the government and media. Get yourself up to speed on DU and its dangers...
Is Japan polluted by DU dust from Iraq? I do believe so. It was blown over to England in a week or so, and there is no reason to believe it should stop there. It keeps traveling and I imagine it is now spread all over this planet.
How can we protect us and our children from it? Doctors say it is best to avoid drinking milk or eating any milk products. I would add meat to their recommendations too, as foods high on the food chain naturally accumulate more radioactive elements.
What a world we are creating! But we still live today and will live tomorrow. We have to do something about it as soon as possible or we will make this planet inhabitable.

Cindy May Run for Senate
"What is the noble cause my son died for?" - Cindy Sheehan's protest outside of President Bush's Ranch fueled the peace movement in the USA. She has been as busy as ever with her recent arrest at the State of the Union for wearing a T-shirt that said "2245 died, How Many More?" She not only lost her son but also the right to express herself. In the state of Union, President Bush talked about freedom and American values, using the word "freedom" 17 times. How ironical it is that she can not even wear a T-shirt that says the truth and asks a very serious question. Bush should be answering her.

Some other good news is about the showing of 911 In Plane Site (Directors Cut) in Australia on Channel 10, a national network TV station. After showing the movie Channel 10 got nearly 600 phone calls, a very high rate for Australia. Out of those 600 calls only 8 were negative. That is so great! People are finally seeing the value of this amazing documentary. I just pray it hits some TV screens in the USA. Check out this story. http://www.newswithviews.com/news_worthy/news_worthy69.htm
We are considering translating the wonderful new documentary "Loose Change" into Japanese. You can see it online. It is really well done. I am so happy that the directors are from NY and that they are young. Actually I was amazed to discover that they are in their early 20's. Many people have been saying that "This is the best film ever on 911". You can download the movie from here. http://www.question911.com/links.php

Finally US Mainstream Media Covers 911 Facts
It has been more than 4 years since the tragic events of Sept. 11th happened.
Though thinking about September 11 should bring us sadness, today I think we should be all happy as finally the mainstream media is publishing material that questions the official story of what really happened on that terrible day.
Here are some recent links you should check out:
The US version of Yahoo News published this story ‘Experts Claim Official 9/11 Story is a Hoax‘ a few days ago that covers the inconsistencies surrounding the events of September 11th, 2001.
Also, the Miami Herald published this excellent article ‘Avoiding the Hard Questions’ . Yes, people are beginning to ask questions!!
I particularly like the work of Scholars for 911 which is mentioned in the second article. Please check out their site. I hope that they can influence those who say, "How on earth can you say the US government is involved on 911. It can not be possible. No one can even think about such a thing!"
As you know, we have insisted that the events of Sept. 11, 2001 were totally fabricated by the US government. Our English site now has many wonderful links that I recommend you look at carefully:
If you still have some doubt about US governments’ involvement in Sept. 11th after you spend time reading through all material on the sites we list and watching the movies and reading the books that we recommend, I would really not know what to say to you...
Though the news stories mentioned above are excellent, anyone who wants to find out what really happened on Sept. 11th cannot yet rely on the mainstream media for the truth.
You must check the links on our GPC site to learn what really happened.
Let's continue spreading the truth.
NO MORE WAR.
Love and Peace,
Yumi

Good News! 911 In Plane Site seen in major media outlets!
911 In Plane Site was shown on Channel 10 in Australia today and is also the opening story covered in this weeks Weekly Post (週刊ポスト) here in Japan! Here is a picture of the cover. I am very happy as finally the film has been discussed by a major magazine in Japan, the Shukan (Weekly) Post. I believe the Weekly Post circulation is around 600,000. It is an excellent six page article, written by Benjamin Fulford, the former head of Forbes Asia, (see also Forbes Japan) a well respected media outlet for the business community. The article touches on all the main points in the film.
As for the Australian broadcast, I think this is the first time this film has aired on a commercial TV station in the world. Well done, Chris, the distributer of the film in Australia!
I have had to bear many attacks and criticisms because of my push to publize this film, but I am fine as long as there is interest and argument in this important subject. This topic needs more attention to say the least!
Thank you very much whoever made this happen!!!!

I have had to bear many attacks and criticisms because of my push to publize this film, but I am fine as long as there is interest and argument in this important subject. This topic needs more attention to say the least!
Thank you very much whoever made this happen!!!!

The war against Iraq, the assault on its people, the occupation of its cities, will come to an end, sooner or later. The process has already begun. The first signs of mutiny are appearing in Congress. The first editorials calling for withdrawal from Iraq are beginning to appear in the press. The anti-war movement has been growing, slowly but persistently, all over the country.
Public opinion polls now show the country decisively against the war and the Bush Administration. The harsh realities have become visible. The troops will have to come home.
And while we work with increased determination to make this happen, should we not think beyond this war? Should we begin to think, even before this shameful war is over, about ending our addiction to massive violence and instead using the enormous wealth of our country for human needs? That is, should we begin to speak about ending war—not just this war or that war, but war itself? Perhaps the time has come to bring an end to war, and turn the human race onto a path of health and healing.
A group of internationally known figures, celebrated both for their talent and their dedication to human rights (Gino Strada, Paul Farmer, Kurt Vonnegut, Nadine Gordimer, Eduardo Galeano, and others), will soon launch a worldwide campaign to enlist tens of millions of people in a movement for the renunciation of war, hoping to reach the point where governments, facing popular resistance, will find it difficult or impossible to wage war.
There is a persistent argument against such a possibility, which I have heard from people on all parts of the political spectrum: We will never do away with war because it comes out of human nature. The most compelling counter to that claim is in history: We don’t find people spontaneously rushing to make war on others. What we find, rather, is that governments must make the most strenuous efforts to mobilize populations for war. They must entice soldiers with promises of money, education, must hold out to young people whose chances in life look very poor that here is an opportunity to attain respect and status. And if those enticements don’t work, governments must use coercion: They must conscript young people, force them into military service, threaten them with prison if they do not comply.
Furthermore, the government must persuade young people and their families that though the soldier may die, though he or she may lose arms or legs, or become blind, that it is all for a noble cause, for God, for country.
When you look at the endless series of wars of this century you do not find a public demanding war, but rather resisting it, until citizens are bombarded with exhortations that appeal, not to a killer instinct, but to a desire to do good, to spread democracy or liberty or overthrow a tyrant.
Woodrow Wilson found a citizenry so reluctant to enter the First World War that he had to pummel the nation with propaganda and imprison dissenters in order to get the country to join the butchery going on in Europe.
In the Second World War, there was indeed a strong moral imperative, which still resonates among most people in this country and which maintains the reputation of World War II as “the good war.” There was a need to defeat the monstrosity of fascism. It was that belief that drove me to enlist in the Air Force and fly bombing missions over Europe.
Only after the war did I begin to question the purity of the moral crusade. Dropping bombs from five miles high, I had seen no human beings, heard no screams, seen no children dismembered. But now I had to think about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the firebombings of Tokyo and Dresden, the deaths of 600,000 civilians in Japan, and a similar number in Germany.
I came to a conclusion about the psychology of myself and other warriors: Once we decided, at the start, that our side was the good side and the other side was evil, once we had made that simple and simplistic calculation, we did not have to think anymore. Then we could commit unspeakable crimes and it was all right.
I began to think about the motives of the Western powers and Stalinist Russia and wondered if they cared as much about fascism as about retaining their own empires, their own power, and if that was why they had military priorities higher than bombing the rail lines leading to Auschwitz. Six million Jews were killed in the death camps (allowed to be killed?). Only 60,000 were saved by the war—1 percent.
A gunner on another crew, a reader of history with whom I had become friends, said to me one day: “You know this is an imperialist war. The fascists are evil. But our side is not much better.” I could not accept his statement at the time, but it stuck with me.
War, I decided, creates, insidiously, a common morality for all sides. It poisons everyone who is engaged in it, however different they are in many ways, turns them into killers and torturers, as we are seeing now. It pretends to be concerned with toppling tyrants, and may in fact do so, but the people it kills are the victims of the tyrants. It appears to cleanse the world of evil, but that does not last, because its very nature spawns more evil. Wars, like violence in general, I concluded, is a drug. It gives a quick high, the thrill of victory, but that wears off and then comes despair.
I acknowledge the possibility of humanitarian intervention to prevent atrocities, as in Rwanda. But war, defined as the indiscriminate killing of large numbers of people, must be resisted.
Whatever can be said about World War II, understanding its complexity, the situations that followed—Korea, Vietnam—were so far from the kind of threat that Germany and Japan had posed to the world that those wars could be justified only by drawing on the glow of “the good war.” A hysteria about communism led to McCarthyism at home and military interventions in Asia and Latin America—overt and covert—justified by a “Soviet threat” that was exaggerated just enough to mobilize the people for war.
Vietnam, however, proved to be a sobering experience, in which the American public, over a period of several years, began to see through the lies that had been told to justify all that bloodshed. The United States was forced to withdraw from Vietnam, and the world didn’t come to an end. One half of one tiny country in Southeast Asia was now joined to its communist other half, and 58,000 American lives and millions of Vietnamese lives had been expended to prevent that. A majority of Americans had come to oppose that war, which had provoked the largest anti-war movement in the nation’s history.
The war in Vietnam ended with a public fed up with war. I believe that the American people, once the fog of propaganda had dissipated, had come back to a more natural state. Public opinion polls showed that people in the United States were opposed to send troops anywhere in the world, for any reason.
The Establishment was alarmed. The government set out deliberately to overcome what it called “the Vietnam syndrome.” Opposition to military interventions abroad was a sickness, to be cured. And so they would wean the American public away from its unhealthy attitude, by tighter control of information, by avoiding a draft, and by engaging in short, swift wars over weak opponents (Grenada, Panama, Iraq), which didn’t give the public time to develop an anti-war movement.
I would argue that the end of the Vietnam War enabled the people of the United States to shake the “war syndrome,” a disease not natural to the human body. But they could be infected once again, and September 11 gave the government that opportunity. Terrorism became the justification for war, but war is itself terrorism, breeding rage and hate, as we are seeing now.
The war in Iraq has revealed the hypocrisy of the “war on terrorism.” And the government of the United States, indeed governments everywhere, are becoming exposed as untrustworthy: that is, not to be entrusted with the safety of human beings, or the safety of the planet, or the guarding of its air, its water, its natural wealth, or the curing of poverty and disease, or coping with the alarming growth of natural disasters that plague so many of the six billion people on Earth.
I don’t believe that our government will be able to do once more what it did after Vietnam—prepare the population for still another plunge into violence and dishonor. It seems to me that when the war in Iraq ends, and the war syndrome heals, that there will be a great opportunity to make that healing permanent.
My hope is that the memory of death and disgrace will be so intense that the people of the United States will be able to listen to a message that the rest of the world, sobered by wars without end, can also understand: that war itself is the enemy of the human race.
Governments will resist this message. But their power is dependent on the obedience of the citizenry. When that is withdrawn, governments are helpless. We have seen this again and again in history.
The abolition of war has become not only desirable but absolutely necessary if the planet is to be saved. It is an idea whose time has come.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
No religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us

Fallujah: Thie Hidden Massacre
Is US media getting a bit better now?
I think so reading this. From NY Times Editorial:

Shake and Bake
Let us pause and count the ways the conduct of the war in Iraq has damaged America's image and needlessly endangered the lives of those in the military. First, multilateralism was tossed aside. Then the post-invasion fiasco muddied the reputation of military planners and caused unnecessary casualties. The W.M.D. myth undermined the credibility of United States intelligence and President Bush himself, and the abuse of prisoners stole America's moral high ground.
Now the use of a ghastly weapon called white phosphorus has raised questions about how careful the military has been in avoiding civilian casualties. It has also further tarnished America's credibility on international treaties and the rules of warfare.
White phosphorus, which dates to World War II, should have been banned generations ago. Packed into an artillery shell, it explodes over a battlefield in a white glare that can illuminate an enemy's positions. It also rains balls of flaming chemicals, which cling to anything they touch and burn until their oxygen supply is cut off. They can burn for hours inside a human body.
The United States restricted the use of incendiaries like white phosphorus after Vietnam, and in 1983, an international convention banned its use against civilians. In fact, one of the many crimes ascribed to Saddam Hussein was dropping white phosphorus on Kurdish rebels and civilians in 1991.
But white phosphorus has made an ugly comeback. Italian television reported that American forces used it in Falluja last year against insurgents. At first, the Pentagon said the chemical had been used only to illuminate the battlefield, but had to backpedal when it turned out that one of the Army's own publications talked about using white phosphorus against insurgent positions, a practice well known enough to have one of those unsettling military nicknames: "shake and bake."
The Pentagon says white phosphorus was never aimed at civilians, but there are lingering reports of civilian victims. The military can't say whether the reports are true and does not intend to investigate them, a decision we find difficult to comprehend. Pentagon spokesmen say the Army took "extraordinary measures" to reduce civilian casualties, but they cannot say what those measures were.
They also say that using white phosphorus against military targets is legal. That's true, but the 1983 convention bans its use against "civilians or civilian objects," which would make white phosphorus attacks in urban settings like Falluja highly inappropriate at best. The United States signed that convention, but the portion dealing with incendiary weapons has been awaiting ratification in the Senate.
These are technicalities, in any case. Iraq, where winning over wary civilians is as critical as defeating armed insurgents, is no place to be using a weapon like this. More broadly, American demands for counterproliferation efforts and international arms control ring a bit hollow when the United States refuses to give up white phosphorus, not to mention cluster bombs and land mines.
The United States should be leading the world, not dragging its feet, when it comes to this sort of issue - because it's right and because all of us, including Americans, are safer in a world in which certain forms of conduct are regarded as too inhumane even for war. That is why torture should be banned in American prisons. And it is why the United States should stop using white phosphorus.

Cheney should resign! from Gordon Kobayashi
I just got the following letter from Gordon Kobayashi. I met Gordon through the Kucinich for President Campaign. I think this letter tells us precisely what's been wrong with USA and White House now. Please join the campaign!

Tell Congress to Demand Dick Cheney's Resignation
Dick Cheney is personally to blame for the illegal and disastrous invasion of Iraq. Behind the scenes, Cheney was in charge of the war planning effort. In public, Cheney uttered the Administration's most egregious and bald-faced lies - especially about Iraq's non-existent nuclear program. When his nuclear lies were exposed by Ambassador Joe Wilson, Cheney personally participated in the criminal campaign to destroy Joe Wilson by outing his wife. Cheney refuses to take any responsibility for the war or for his crimes, and his former chief of staff, Scooter Libby, committed perjury and obstruction of justice to keep Cheney fro m being indicted. The United States cannot tolerate a criminal hiding from Justice in the White House. Congress must demand Cheney's immediate resignation.
Thank you

42 years since JFK was assassinated!!
Today, Nov 22, marks 42nd anniversary of John F Kennedy's death. LoveEarth link sent me this and I was again shocked to see the film of how he was killed. It could not have been done by a single person, which still is the official story. It had to be at least three men to shoot him like that. Check it out for yourself.
The US is a country where someone can kill the most popular president and still can get away with it.
Who really killed the president?
Who really did the 911?
The press is not giving us the real answers!
This site is very helpful and eye opening for many, especially for most of Americans.
Please tell many people to look at the site.
Each one of us MUST become the media when the mass media does not work as it should! The future of the world is at stake, for our children and their children!

♪ DU and Gerald, Janis and Victoria Matthew! ♪ - 12 min 33 sec - 2.9MB
Today I had an opportunity to meet with Gerald and Janis Matthew and interpreted for them. They are visiting Japan from the US to inform the Japanese public and military of what has happened to him and their daughter after he went to Iraq as a US soldier. He was a driver for US Army carrying destroyed equipment and trucks, mostly of Iraqi origin, that was being moved from southern Iraq to Kuwait. After he was discharged from the military, his wife got pregnant and their daughter was born missing three fingers on her right hand. He didn’t supect anything till doctor asked him if he was ever exposed to any chemical or radioactive materials. At that time, he had no idea if he had been or not.
However, not long after that he found out about DU (depleted uranium) and from that time on his wife started speaking out! Following her courageous lead, Gerald decided to reveal truth to help save not only his daughter but also all the other children affected by the radiation resulting from DU. He now advocates the total elimination of DU type weapons.
I was very moved by their story, especially when they talked about Victoria who is now 17 months old. It was amazing to see her come to her dad and hold his leg tight whenever he got upset or angry about the situation (especially when people asked questions about her missing fingers or when they stared at her hand out of curiosity). He now has started controlling his anger even though his symptoms are getting worse: his has migraines, swelling of his face and body, burning sensations, numbness, blurred vision, coughing, and more...

First Meeting for Japan‘s Ministry of Peace
On Monday, Sep 19 2005, we held the first meeting for Japan's Ministry of Peace at Meiji University, Ochanomizu, Tokyo. It was organized mostly by myself. I was not able to publicize the event before I left Japan to attend a related meeting in Washington DC so, I was so surprised to find more than 100 participants from 10 prefectures in Japan attending on the day. People from Okinawa and Nagasaki were among them. They came all the way just for this meeting!
I guess that people wanted to listen to Congresman Dennis Kucinich's speech which was going to be held by international call. Until the day itself I was not sure if it would go well. Thanks to my strong technical supporter Damien Andrews, it went well and we were able to call him from my cell phone and listen to him and ask him questions. He was very supportive and understanding of Japan's Constitution, especially regarding Article 9, which surprised many and made some cry.
After the landslide victory of the LDP, (Liberal Democratic Party, Japan's ruling party) at the last elecction held on Sept. 11, Japan seems to be about to lose Article 9. But I have not given up! We really can not afford to lose this battle against the neo-cons of Japan, who want make Japan an "ordinary nation", by which they mean to make Japan a country that can fight in wars abroad again. We must remain paeceful and I believe there is a way we can contribute the world without using arms or military means.
The agenda of the meeting:
1. Why form The Ministry of Peace now, a report from the US Department of Peace Conference in Washington DC, by Yumi Kikuchi
2. Japan's idea for The Ministry of Peace by Prof. Ryuji Itoh and Mr. Otsuka
3. Dennis Kucinich's introduction video prepared by Mr. Takafumi Tomita
4. Listen and talk to Dennis Kucinich in a telephone-conference, with US Congressman Dennis Kucinich, Yumi Kukuchi and Gen Morita
5. Panel Talk by Prof. Isamu Mamiya (Meiji Univ), Prof. Masaya Kobayashi (Chiba Univ.), moderator: Yumi Kikuchi (Global Peace Campaign)
The date of the next meeting is not set yet but I mean to organize another one by the end of this year and hopefuly to find several prefecture co-ordinators by then. I also started talking to several diet members (members of Congress) to attend the London Summit of the Department of Peace. It will be held from the 18-20 Oct, 2005. If anyone is interested in participating, please contact me by e-mail.
